Welcome to Our Blog
Although Club VIBES is a not for profit itself, our young members learn to give back to the community by donating their time and talents to other charities. They gain a lot from these learning opportunities.
This past February 2012, Club VIBES formed a team to fundraise on behalf of the Special Olympics program here in theKnoxvilleTNarea. The team took the “Polar Plunge” in theUniversityofTennessee’s outdoor aquatic pool in February. They recruited donations ahead of time to raise money for this worthwhile cause. The Pirate Plungers as they called themselves dressed up as Pirates and walked the plank into the pool despite the chilly outdoor temps.
VIBES is proud to say that the team took home two top awards, “Best Team Costumes”, “Most Team members” and most importantly, also raised the second overall highest financial support in their team effort.
Great job VIBES members. We are proud of your work.
The next charity event that our Club VIBES members have selected to participate in is, helping to find a cure for diabetes, by riding tandem bikes in the Tour de Cure on June 9th 2012.
Our team members will need to have financial backing. Anyone can visit the Tour de cure website and look forKnoxvilleTNand then Team Red and add their support under the name of Sue Buckley, our Club VIBES President.
We hope you will please consider doing this if you wish to help our team, or you can be in touch directly with us and make a contribution that will go to support finding a cure for diabetes. Call us at 865 590 9665 before June 9th to pledge your support. Any amount is welcomed.
Our team plans to ride the 30 plus mile route. Come out and see us on the road sporting our Club VIBES bike jerseys and having fun with our Club VIBES volunteer tandem Pilots.
Stay tuned to our blog for even more events we will be involved in during this year. If you have any ideas for us be in touch at the phone number given above.
Thanks,
The Club VIBES team.
